Pastor Jim Honig

Pr. Jim Honig brings over 30 years experience as a parish pastor to his calling in northern Door County. He is a gifted preacher and teacher, and enjoys both planning and leading worship. Over the past 15 years, he has developed both interest and skill in the arts and practices of congregation based organizing, using those skills to develop congregations and to further their work in the community. In addition to his parish work, he is an active blogger (www.jameskhonig.com), the author of the novel, By Paths Untrodden, and a regular contributor to Sundays and Seasons: Preaching, an annual preaching resource published by the ELCA. When not at work, Pr. Jim enjoys both the outdoors — hiking, biking, kayaking — and the indoors — reading, writing, and a long list of home improvement projects. He is married to Dr. Sheryl Honig, and they have two grown sons, Chris, married to Liz, and Tim, married to Stacey. Jim and Sheryl enjoy their two poodles, Safia and Suzie.

Director of Youth and Family Ministry, Lynda Pietruszka

I was born and raised in a Milwaukee suburb and vacationed in Door County since I was a baby.  My parents retired to Sister Bay in 1992 and have lived there ever since.  My two daughter's (Emily, age 26 and Madeline, age 24) were born and raised in Rochester, MN and Longmont, CO.

My education and work experience are in both the Hospitality Industry and Elementary Education.  I've also had a wonderful opportunity to apply both fields into one as a Children and Family program minister for Longs Peak United Methodist church in Longmont, CO for a number of years.  It is where my passion lies and I am so very happy to be returning to the ministry!

I look forward to sharing my faith journey with my new church family, continuing to strengthen what is already in place for our children, youth, and families, and partnering with ya'll to be the "hands and feet" in service to SOTB and our outlining community!

Be Blessed!!
