Join us for worship Noontime Prayer Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church Holy God, holy and mighty, holy and immortal, have mercy on us. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.* On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Show us your mercy, O God, and grant us your salvation. Give us the joy of your saving help again, and sustain us with your bountiful Spirit. Give peace in all the world; for only in you can we live in safety. Keep the nations under your care, and guide us in the way of justice and truth. Let your way be known upon earth; your saving health among all nations. Let not the needy be forgotten, nor the hope of the poor be taken away. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and sustain me with your Holy Spirit. Lord, hear my prayer, and let my cry come before you. The Lord be with you. And also with you. Let us pray. (Here Pastor will pray several prayers, concluding with the following:) Gracious Jesus, our Lord and our God, at this hour you bore our sins in your own body on the tree so that we, being dead to sin, might live unto righteousness. Have mercy upon us now and at the hour of our death, and grant to us, your servants, with all others who devoutly remember your blessed Passion, a holy and peaceful life in this world and, through your grace, eternal glory in the life to come; where, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, you live and reign, God forever. Amen. Let us bless the Lord. Thanks be to God. Almighty God bless us, defend us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. From sundaysandseasons.com. Copyright © 2020 Augsburg Fortress. Stephen Ministry: The After People People often ask, "What exactly is a Stephen Minister?" One way to put it is that Stephen Ministers are the After People . Stephen Ministers are there: .. .after the phone call you hoped you'd never get. ...after the divorce papers are served and the bottom falls out of your life. ...after the funeral, when everyone has left and the emotions you've held at bay come crashing in on you. ...after the doctor says, "I'm sorry, but there's nothing more we can do." ...afte r the nursing home director shakes your hand and says, "Welcome to your new home." ...after the last child honks the horn, waves, and drives away -- and the house suddenly seems empty. ...after the gavel goes down, the handcuffs go on, and your loved one is led away. ...after the baby arrives, demanding more of you than you ever dreamed possible. ...after you find a pink slip with your final paycheck. ...after your family and friends have heard your story one too many times, but you still need to talk it out. Stephen Ministers are the "After People." They are ready to come alongside you -- or your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or relatives -- and provide comfort and support for as long after as needed. www.stephenministries.org Copyright © 2009 by Stephen Ministries St. Louis, Missouri.
